3 Ways to Stop Being So Hard on Yourself
Sep 04, 2017Today's topic is how to make room for more achievement and motivation. First things first? STOP being so hard on yourself.
Now, here are 3 ways to start moving forward in a more positive direction in jiu-jitsu and in your life.
1. Start learning from your mistakes.
In every mistake there is a potential for growth and learning what you could have done differently. Take the time to learn what corrections needs to be made and readjust.
2. Avoid comparing yourself to other's accomplishments.
Use the achievements of others you admire to inspire you to become even better in what you do. Tell yourself that you’re going to try just as hard as you can to achieve something just as much one day. Instead of worrying about not being able to achieve your final goal, focus on analyzing your current scenario, stick with the things you have been doing right, and re-evaluate the things you could be doing differently and act on it.
3. Be mindful of your internal dialogue.
You are your own toughest critic and your mind is like the radio, it never stops. What plays in your head day in and day out? Take a moment to think and reflect the negative vs the positive. Be mindful and open your awareness up to what you say to yourself.
